Refund Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

This page explains when ProofMyText refunds a payment for a Pro subscription or 7-Day Access, and how to ask. It is part of our Subscription Terms; if the two ever differ, the Subscription Terms apply.

1. The short version

2. Zero-usage refund within 14 days

Wherever you live, if you contact us within 14 days of your first payment for a plan and our logs show no Pro usage on the account since that payment (no rewrites, no Pro checks, no file uploads, no fact checks), we refund that payment in full. This applies once per customer.

3. Right of withdrawal for EU and UK consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services without giving a reason. ProofMyText is supplied immediately: by subscribing you expressly request that we begin performance at once, and you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been fully performed. Running any Pro feature is performance of the service. In practice:

  • Withdraw within 14 days without having used any Pro feature, and we refund the payment in full.
  • Withdraw within 14 days after using Pro features, and we deduct an amount proportionate to the service already provided, based on our usage logs, and refund the remainder. Where the usage is substantial, the deduction may equal the full payment.

4. Duplicate charges and technical faults

We refund in full if you were charged twice for the same period, or charged after we confirmed a cancellation. We also refund if a technical fault on our side made Pro unusable for a significant part of the period and you reported it while it was happening.

5. What is not refunded

Access is provided for the whole period charged, so we do not refund partial billing periods, unused time, the $2 7-Day Access fee, a renewal you forgot to cancel, or a plan you stopped using. We also do not refund on the basis that a detection score, a plagiarism result, a rewritten text, or a grammar suggestion did not produce the outcome you hoped for: detection and similarity scores are probabilistic estimates that can be wrong in either direction, and no tool can guarantee a particular result from another service.

6. How to ask for a refund

Email support@proofmytext.com from the email address on your account, with the date of the payment. Requests are decided against our usage logs, usually within 2 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 14 days of approval, at no cost to you. Bank processing can add a few more days before the money shows on your statement.

Please contact us before opening a chargeback. A dispute raised without contacting us first is treated as a breach of the Subscription Terms: the account is suspended while the bank investigates, and if the dispute is resolved in our favour the account is closed.

7. Purchases processed by Paddle

Some purchases are processed by our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Ltd (or its affiliates), which appears on your card statement and receipt. The same rules on this page apply to those purchases. You can ask us directly, or contact Paddle at paddle.net; Paddle issues the refund to your original payment method once it is approved.

8. Cancelling instead of refunding

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the period already paid for. Cancelling does not by itself trigger a refund.
